The Busan Traditional Culture Center(BTCC), located in Seo-gu, opened in March 2017. The center offers many traditional experiences for citizens. Everyone including family members, students, and foreigners can participate in the program.
BTCC official said, "The center, designed as a Gaok(traditional Korean house), was awarded at the Busan Construction Awards."
"There are many different types of programs. We have a one-day experience program, Saturday family programs, and regular programs. One-day program offers tea etiquette, traditional game, and food experience. Only 20 people are accepted, so we suggested to make a reservation as soon as possible. The Saturday family program provides tea drinking class, traditional games, cooking class, daily etiquette class, and forest experience. Attendees can participate in the programs once a week. There are First and happy tea ceremony, Healthy meal making, temple food, and Gayageum classes. After May, we will make another program."
"In addition to joining the program, we operate an exhibition room which displays traditional culture works, and a multipurpose venue used to present and various programs and performances. Also, we run a cafe where we sell traditional tea and products. If foreigners want to learn about the Korean culture, the BTCC is the best place to visit." she added.
It is open from 9 AM to 6 PM. It closes on Mondays. The center, traditional cultural education, and experience programs are free of charge, while the materials may cost an extra fee. People can get to the center by getting on the town shuttle bus near Dongdaesin station or Seodaesin station.
