Busan University of Foreign Studies CORE business group is organizing a global liberal arts course with a topic of 'Linking myself with the world'. The group has been conducting the course since 2016. For this semester, 12 lectures will take place once a week.

The CORE business group, which enhances the human resources, runs a 'Culture IN program' targeting local residents. This program is based on the motto to learn more about the cultures in other regions to foster a global culture in the world with a purpose of a better communication. The Culture IN program not only runs liberal arts courses but also organizes several seminars and forums. On April 3, the first lecture took place under the theme of 'History and Culture flowing in Russian Continents'. Those who attend the classes will be given a chance to attend the seminar and conference of citizen liberal arts studies, get a certificate of course completion and receive complimentary tickets for the liberal arts festival.

CORE business group said, "We created this program to popularize liberal arts education. We have been hosting this program since 2016 and we even hosted the citizen liberal arts course in Buk-gu in the second semester of last year. We were able to continue the course every year by integrating other programs with the course."

"Many students inquire us whether they can take the course. It is because of the word 'Citizen' in the name of the course. Any BUFS students can attend the course they want," they added.

Also, Lee Yu-bin(DEPT OF Korean Culture '15) who attended the course said, "When I have some free time, I often go and take the course. It gives lectures about other countries' history and culture. I hope more similar programs will open."

All classes are free of charge. Geumjeong-gu residents and Busan citizens can participate in this course. Lecture schedule is due on June 26th. It opens every Tuesday from 7 PM to 9 PM at the Trinity Hall(D120).
